Terms & Conditions

These terms explain the basis on which USA Self Publishing provides editing, cover design, formatting and publishing support.

Please read them alongside your quotation and project agreement before booking a service. Your project agreement sets out the services, deliverables, fees and schedule applicable to your order. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.

Our Commitment to Authors

USA Self Book Publishing provides publishing services to independent authors. Our role is to deliver the work agreed for your project while respecting your ownership and publishing decisions.

  • Your manuscript remains yours. You retain copyright in the original material you supply. Commissioned designs and final files are provided under the ownership terms stated in your project agreement. Any third-party assets remain subject to their applicable licences.
  • We do not take a share of your royalties. Where books are published through your own accounts, payments are made according to the relevant platform’s terms. Retailer commissions, printing costs, distribution charges and taxes may still apply.
  • Fees are agreed before work begins.Your quotation identifies the included services and payment requirements. Additional work requires your approval before it is charged.
  • Publishing outcomes are not guaranteed. Our services do not guarantee sales, bestseller status, reviews or bookshop placement.

Client Materials & Copyright

You must own, or have permission to use, the manuscripts, images, illustrations and other materials you provide. This includes permission to reproduce, edit and publish those materials where required.

You are responsible for identifying any content that requires third-party permission and supplying the relevant authorisations.

By commissioning our services, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive permission to use your materials solely to carry out the agreed work. This does not transfer ownership of your manuscript to us.

Any stock images, fonts or other licensed assets included in your book remain subject to their licence conditions. Relevant restrictions should be identified in your project documentation.

Payments & Cancellation

Services are quoted individually according to the scope of your project. Your agreement specifies the total price, any applicable taxes, deposit requirements and payment schedule.

Work begins after you accept the project agreement and make the required payment, subject to any applicable cancellation period and consent requirements.

To request cancellation, email info@USAselfpublishing.co.uk with your name and project details.

Any refund will be assessed against the work completed, your project agreement and applicable law. Deductions will only be made where permitted, with an explanation of the calculation provided.

If you are purchasing as a consumer, applicable statutory cancellation rights take priority over our contractual cancellation policy. Any request to begin work during a statutory cancellation period, and its effect on payments or cancellation rights, must be explained and agreed before work starts.

Changes to the agreed scope may affect the price and schedule. We will seek your approval before proceeding with additional chargeable work.

Quality, Approval & Responsibility

We will carry out the agreed services with reasonable care and skill.

You must review the manuscript, cover and formatted files provided at the agreed approval stages. Please identify any required corrections before authorising publication or printing.

Your final review should include names, factual details, permissions, cover wording and the presentation of the print or digital files. Your approval does not remove any statutory rights or excuse a failure by us to provide the agreed services properly.

Retailers, printers and distribution platforms operate under their own policies and schedules. We cannot guarantee their acceptance decisions, processing times or continued availability.

If you believe the delivered work does not meet the agreed scope, contact us with the relevant details so we can assess the issue and discuss an appropriate remedy.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing Law & Enquiries

These terms and the services provided under them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

If you have a question or concern about your project, please contact us first so we can seek to resolve it.
